Winter Rhapsody by Katarina Sokolova

Katarina Sokolova made her debut on Ben Trovato back in December, and now she’s back with her first exclusive story for us. Winter Rhapsody features multitalent Katya Boychuck as model in her own designs, with make up done by Katarina herself.

Katarina says this about the story: “- I was inspired by the soft after-new year’s mood. We shot the story the first days after new year, when the time is passing by real slowly, the air is full of perfume, happiness and tiredness, the morning is grey and quiet after crazy parties. Days when you can drink melancholy tea with quince jam or smoke some hookah. You often wear evening dresses from early morning reflecting on how to spend the evening.

In December I asked the London and Kiev based photographer what inspired her, and this is what she answered: “- I find inspiration in the mysterious works of Paolo Roversi, David Bellemere and Tim Walker, and at the same time in the defiant sexual works of Ellen von Unwerth and Mario Sorrenti. I see a future in fashion photography, and for me it is a reflexive game, which is my field of creative endeavor at this time.
