Vicky by Bettina Genten

Back when our calendar read December we published the story that would be the first one to get on our digital cover. Bettina Genten‘s story featuring fresh face Vicky Lugentz came in late, but was still one of our reader’s favorite stories of 2011. Now the Brussels based photographer is back on Ben Trovato, with yet another amazing story featuring the up-and-coming Dominique Models talent Vicky Lugentz. The title? Vicky, of course.

I’m very fascinated by the girl , the model ‘Vicky’,” Bettina tells us, adding “This time, she’s a punky girl, chic and sensitive. The colors are of much more importance than in my last story.. I wanted to create a colorful and yet quiet story.

The pictures are taken in a little beautiful house in Ghent, which happens to be stylist Lisa Lapauw’s house: “- I searched very long to find the perfect place for this shoot and I found it in the house of the stylist.. She has a really good taste for colors and little objects…

Even though Bettina’s inspiration comes from just about everything, her main inspiration when shooting Vicky was of course the model herself. “- She moves so easy and elegantly. She is so beautiful…

Adélaïde Vonêche did Vicky’s makeup, while the aforementioned Lisa Lapauw styled the shoot using fashion from Wolford, Levi’s, Filippa K, Wildfox and others.

I wanted the girl to look alone, partly abandoned, partly confused,” Lisa says, adding “But still strong and colorful and ready to attack if necessary. On the edge of a breaking point and slightly enjoying her power.
