Top Of The Reds by Kathrin Müller-Heffter

From Kathrin Müller-Heffter's first exclusive for Ben Trovato

It’s been way too long since Kathrin Müller-Heffter came from nowhere and made jaws drop with her debut story Far Afield, just about a year ago now. The German fashion photographer has spent her days well since last December, and is now in New York producing one incredible story after the other. One of which, for Ben Trovato.

Top Of The Reds features Ola Pochorecka with MC2, shot on a rooftop in New York wearing colorful Scandinavian fashion. “We’re really big fans of the scandinavian style - so we chose designers such as Henrik Vibskov, Stine Goya, Monki and Weekday. Also we wanted to accentuate the extraordinary look of our beautiful model Ola,” says stylist and Stefanie Schwaiger and Kathrin.

As these colors are already very gaudy, I chose a location which wasn’t that dominant but still interesting. I wanted straight and clear poses to get a contrast to the loud styling, and that would fit the rough location,” Kathrin continues, before praising her team: “-I had a great German team on set! We have already worked together several times and we’ve always had a good time. What makes it so lovely is that everybody knows what she’s doing and our taste is very similar.

Kathrin shot Top Of The Reds with a Canon 5D Mark II using 24-70mm, 50mm and 70-200mm lenses, and only available light.

Since her last story on Ben Trovato, Kathrin says she’s done a lot of free fashion and beauty productions which helped refine her style and approach. Hopefully we’ll se a lot more of her on Ben Trovato.
