Serenade : Magdalene by Advan Matthew

Advan Matthew adds to his series of unique exclusive fashion editorials on Ben Trovato with his latest story entitled Serenade : Magdalene. Serenade, as Advan explained in his first feature here on Ben Trovato, means “the music to give honor” within classical Piano. Serenade : Magdalene, as his first story Serenade : Nefertiti, is a part of Advan’s project “Piano Black – Serenade” where he portrays world’s icons, presented in fashion and twisted in between authenticity and current’s trend.

From Advan Matthew's first fashion editorial for Ben Trovato, Serenade : Nefertiti.

Advan explains the concept: “- One of the significant icon in Christianity, She was one of Jesus’ most celebrated disciples, and the most important woman disciple in the movement of Jesus. She was the first person to see Jesus after his Resurrection. Magdalene has become one of the big influencer for myself as feminist. She embraces the persona of femininity and strength covered in fragile being. Sometimes I call her Mrs. Jesus too. The setting was influenced by her stories as well, mostly portraying the silent forest with broken white rose as the symbol of fragile femininity until at the end she became one of the santa.

Taking the role of Magdalene is Milena from Posh, dressed up by Reza Bustami, with makeup by Yoga Septa, and hair by Ferry Ferrarie.
