Mutiny by Kyle Goldie

From Kyle's last story for Ben Trovato, Cliff.

Kyle Goldie made jaws drop when he made his debut on Ben Trovato back in June 2011 with his editorial entitled Cliff featuring the striking Malene Søndergaard Jensen. Today he’s back with another amazing black and white story, this time featuring male model Corey Wise.

Mutiny is inspired by 1930s photos of fishermen and sea captains from Alaska: “- I then wanted to find a model that looked very rugged, yet timeless. All of the effects that you see in the images are done 100% in-camera and were used to add a more modern spin to the esthetic of the story.”

Kyle’s rugged, yet timeless, model turned out to be Corey Wise with Sports Unlimited, and Kyle was more than thrilled to work with the stud: “- Corey Wise is amazing to work with! Takes direction incredibly well, is patient, and does literally anything to get the shot! It was only a few degrees above freezing when we shot together and it was windy & raining to boot. He’s a true champion!

Also joining the team was fashion stylist Gabriel Aguayo, who’s worked with Kyle on multiple occasions. “Gabriel has a great eye for detail, is incredibly passionate about what he does, and his “go get ‘em” attitude makes his presence on set a strong benefit,” Kyle says. Gabriel agrees, and says he loved working with Kyle and Corey, and adds: ” -I gotta say I really appreciate Kyle and everything he has done for me. He really got me started in the game big time, and showed me how to make great connections.

Gabriel further explains that his styling always needs to complete the concept of the story, as one of the most important pieces of the production. The snap shot that’s worth a thousand words is important, but a whole story can say even more: “- My work is all about a story. I hope when you look at one of my stories the first word that comes to mind is wow or phrase ….. this is classy not classic.”

Since Kyle’s last feature on Ben Trovato he’s had a few more big commercial clients and lots of direct bookings from international magazines: “- I’ve also been traveling a bit more for shoots as I’m moving away from Seattle in 2012; seeking out my options over the next two months. I can truly feel that 2012 is going to be amazing for my career. I thank Ben Trovato for helping show my work around the world!
