After having worked as a model for 5 years, Jack Waterlot decided to retire as a model at the age of 20. But even though he quit as a model, he decided to stay in the fashion business, just on the other side of the lens: “Yes, fashion Photography came naturally for me because I came from that industry, it’s been my passion ever since.“
His work has been breathtaking ever since he picked up the camera, and today we’re excited to present to you the Paris and Los Angeles based photographer’s first exclusive fashion editorial for Ben Trovato, Il Etait Une Fois, meaning once upon a time.
“To be honest, I had an idea but I didn’t have the details for my story at the time of the shoot. Everything came to me naturally and easily from the set of the location,” Jack explains, adding “I often do this so that I can keep the magic in the end result, for this story it did just that. It was perfect.”
The star of the story is the gorgeous model Xenia from Elite models. “Xenia was perfect for this story so it was easy to work with her,” Jack says we ask how it was to work with such a great talent. “She took directions well, she was very professional and we had a lot of fun shooting this series. It was effortless.”
Completing the team was stylist Ja’Niya Walker and hair stylist and makeup artist Sparkle Tafao, a team that has worked together many times before: “- Yes, I always work with the same team when I can, I like to keep it all ‘in the family’ as they say. That way they know me and my style and my moods, and I know theirs. We create together, and that is very important to me.”
