Balcó De Bellesa by Andrea Massari

Andrea Massari was born in Rome in the seventies, but spent his childhood in Sao Paulo, something he describes as a wonderful experience. He started of as an illustrator at the age of 18, before the computers dominated the artform, and most of the artwork was made by hand. Photography came into his life years later: “- I was 27 and step by step, I started to get a very good feeling with camera and shootings rather than white canvases and brushes! At the beginning I worked a lot as a still life and portrait photographer for advertisement, but then fashion photography came in and gave me the opportunity to express myself in a more intimate way.

He claims the works of Sieff and Avedon has influenced him and his approach to the artform, but mentions the nature, the sun and simplicity as dominant in his work.

Yulia Tsymbal from Trend Models Barcelona

Now back in Rome, where he lives with his cat Mirò, he is shooting one amazing story after the other. The latest contribution to his portfolio is his debut story for Ben Trovato: Balcó De Bellesa. The story was shot in Barcelona with the amazing Ukrainian model Yulia Tsymbal. The stylist was Anna Arroyo, and Fernando Zunino did the hair and makeup. “- I was in Barcelona with my assistant Tommaso for an assignment. We had a beautiful apartment upon the Ramblas and Plaza Real, superb light and location and a free day! In just a few minutes I called a booker in Trend models, a stylist and a makeup artist.

The day after we were on the terrace shooting the beautiful Yulia Tsymbal. Whole situation was really easy and friendly. I love when it’s like that!
