Georgiana

19 years old, born and raised in Romania, Georgiana Saraev loves her country because it has everything she’ll ever need: amazing food, the nicest people and beautiful seasides. She’s a social butterfly and is always there for her friends whenever they need anything. If someone’s in need, she’s the first girl to step up to the plate. Her style icons lately have been Barbara Palvin and Natasha Poly, two girls she looks up to not only for style, but as models! Her favorite designer of the moment is Alexander Wang.

She thinks she’s got a special eye for talent too, when she meets new models she can sense when a girl will hit it big… and she’s usually right!

Daniela by David Joseph Perez

About a year ago David Joseph Perez had his work featured on Ben Trovato for the first time, and since then it’s been a goal for us to have him shoot something for us, -as with all of the amazing photographers we’ve featured over the years. Cecy Young had her first Ben Trovato story released yesterday, and today it’s David’s turn with his story Daniela.

This shoot was less of a traditional story,” David explains. “It was more focused on the presence of the model, Daniela De Jesus, who I’ve been a fan of for some time. I wanted to capture her presence in strong quietude. In adding the dimensions of the mirrors, I hoped to reassert the fact that it is only her, hence the dark background, lack of props, etc.

Daniela is from La Paz in Mexico, and has appeared in Italian Vogue, on the cover of Maxim and done campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch. “Daniela mere presence is a joy to be around! She spoke very little English, and my Spanish is limited, but we managed communication by way of eye contact, and I just let her be her, as well.

Joining David and Daniela was stylist Javier Lewis, hair stylist Kimiyuki Misawa, and makeup artist Harumi Machii. “Javier, the stylist, and I have been working together with for about two years, we have lots of fun. Kimiyuki is my main guy when it comes to hair, he is very efficient and precise. Harumi is a super talented makeup artist who I’ve had the pleasure of working with for years as well.

I am very lucky to create with them all.

Stylist Javier Lewis said he went for a glam rock style with hints of art deco for the story. We love the Betsey Johnson dominance!

Aside from continuing to shoot great editorial work, David is currently working on his first book, “2012: A visual historical perspective of the New City girl.” We’ll let you know once it’s out!
