Vegas by Marie Schmidt

Shot at Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, photographer Marie Schmidt and model Christine Unruh explore the different moods of the city during a hot summer day. “Even though Las Vegas was also very inspiring at night, I was more fascinated by its appearance at daytime, when the streets are empty because everybody escapes from the heat.”

The clear blue sky, palm trees, and cityscape are a perfect backdrop for the story. The clothing mostly consists of dresses highlighted by bold jewelry pieces, and again we see the trend of neon colors. Impressively, Marie doubled as the stylist for the shoot and Christine as her own makeup artist. The palette of deep browns and bronze shimmer is accentuated by the supple golden light of the late afternoon sun. “After all it’s also the outcome of an intimate shoot between model Christine and me without a big team around like on the most of my other shoots. Working this way, for me, was a special and nice experience, because the collaboration with each other is very personal”, says Marie.
