Dortmund based creative Edgar Berg was introduced to fashion photography through love, and he fell at first sight: “- I started photography almost three years ago when I first met my girlfriend who happens to be a model. I was so inspired by her book that I had to start a new chapter in my life. Photography is now my greatest love and I love every minute of it.“
After having spent the past winter in Paris in order to sponge up the culture and inspiration, he came back to Germany knowing exactly where he wanted to take his work. “Since the last months have been very cold and pale I wanted to break out of it with a colorful and vivid story,” he says.
On the first real spring day he decided to make it happen, and he knew the perfect location: “- The greenhouse was really the perfect location to make that happen. It features beautiful and unique light situations that I couldn’t imagine any better.”
Tangled Up In The Jungle is a story about a girl that is getting a close connection to the nature she’s submerged in. “She is somehow building a symbiosis with what she loves and respects,” Edgar explains.
Taking the part of the girl was Jenny Rei, a beautiful up and coming model represented by Anima Creative Management. “Jenny Rei is a very beautiful and kind person that loves what she does,” Edgar tells us, adding “[..] I only had to take a few shots to clearly see her full potential. Her exotic look really built a great symbiosis with the environment.”
“She definitely was the perfect model for this shooting and we had a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to create another amazing stories with Jenny in the future.”
Stylist Marina Kozlova and hair stylist and makeup artist Britta Meyerling completed Edgar’s team, and he couldn’t have been more happy with how they all worked together: “- I have worked with Marina many times before. Back then she was in front of the camera. Well, she is also my girlfriend haha, and that is also the reason why I’m so happy with the outcome of this shooting since it was her first styling job ever. We are a great team and everything works on a telepathy basis. Britta did a perfect job on the makeup and hair. She is also nice to have around since she has a nice sense of humor. It was the first time we have worked together and for sure not the last time.”
Marina says her “[..] idea for the look was to create an atmosphere which is exotic and feminine. We wanted to create a strong and independent women who enjoys her life in full bloom. It is all about colors, florals and the affinity to nature.”
