Photography by Grace Gunawan

Jakarta (Indonesia) based photographer Grace Gunawan has been shooting semi professionally for about 2 years now, getting more and more of her work out there, slowly moving up the latter. She actually had a go at photography way before she started seriously: “- I  first hand held a camera back in 2001, but I failed at it miserably. Couldn’t understand what aperture and shutter was. Then I started to learn it again back in 2007 and I’ve been shooting semi-professionally since March 2009.

She’s got a number of inspirations, it ranges from certain color schemes, nature and open landscapes, to the works of iconic photographers such as Richard Avedon and Guy Bourdin: “- I also draw inspirations from stylists that I’ve worked with. I did a lot of collaboration with a friend of mine, Aldi Indrajaya, whom I think is such a wonderful stylist and such an inspiration because of his dreams and visions, and how he puts things together. I also love and adore Grace Coddington’s work.

Grace has exciting things in the pipeline, with a trip to Australia and a lot of test shoots and collaborations coming up.
