Photography by Axel Engström

Stockholm based photographer Axel Engström has been shooting for 4 years now, where the last three as a professional: “- I picked up photography after a shoot I did with a band I was in at the time. Being a photographer looked easy. Now I’ve learned that’s not really the case. It’s hard work, no rest and a rough biz.

His commercial work has been published worldwide, and he’s got some exciting editorial work in the pipeline. And his inspirations? “- First: The new Deftones album Diamond Eyes. It’s aggressive, fragile, immensely dark and beautiful in my mind. Chino Moneros lyrics and way of singing has always helped me find inspiration. In some music I hear colors. That’s when music is at it’s best. That’s pure inspiration. Last: Most photographers bore me. I look elsewhere for image inspiration. Nick Knight is OK though… And Always: Passionate people inspire me. People who talk the talk and walk the walk.

He has an ambition to do it big, and promise me to be all over the place in a year from now. So keep an eye on him.
