Our amazing 2011 has come to an end, and to celebrate it we’ve had two of our favorite photographers show us how to celebrate a Ben Trovato New Years Eve. This evening belongs to Nicole Hill, Nicole Anne Robbins, Ben Trovato and most of all to every single one of our amazing followers around the world.
We are kicking the party off with Nicole Hill‘s fabulous fashion editorial A Ben Trovato New Years, where we celebrate the amazing year we’ve had. And then later today Nicole Anne Robbins will show us how to start the new year off New York City style, with her New Beginnings 2012 story.
Models Alana Mesica, Sofia Arellano, Whitney Fransway, Ivy Levan, and Cristina Irimiciuc joined us in the celebration. Together with stylist Chesley Tolentino and makeup- and hair stylist Bethany Ruck they made up Nicole’s team for the shoot, and the photographer couldn’t be happier about it: “- These girls are my absolute favorite, and I try to work with them as much as possible… working with Bethany and Chesley is always a blast for me. I love these girls and we understand which really helps when we are coming together to create a story.”
In a Ben Trovato spirit Nicole says she “wanted this story to portray the fun/funky side of new years eve with a 70′s twist. In this editorial it’s all about having fun with your girlfriends and being silly. I wanted to get a group of five girls together and just have fun, shoot, dance and see what happens. This shoot was something a lot different than what I normally do and while shooting I really wanted to portray the feeling of fun and freedom and the healing power of a night in with your best friends.”
The inspiration for the shoot was Glitter(!) and tons of it. “- And of course fun dance music! We kept the radio on all day and made sure to keep the good vibes going strong,” Nicole says.
Stylist Chesley was more than excited to work on this project with Nicole, and tells us they wanted to break the boundaries of the typical New Years Eve outfits: “- We took NYE to a whole new level with layering unexpected textures and colors together, plus adding an extra dose of sequins..of course. During the preparation of the shoot, the 70′s vibe was stuck in my head and I knew I had to capture that raw easiness through the clothes.”
This was by far one of the most fun shoots I’ve had, specifically because I got to work with an amazing team and style unexpected pieces in a cohesive way!
