Photography by Silja Magg

NYC based photographer Silja Magg never really planned on being a photographer, but after spending lots of time with her photographer father in his darkroom when she was little, steered her in that direction. At the age of 18 she started taking pictures for real, and good is that, because her work has a mystique  uniqueness to it that must be seen, and holds a clear link to her Icelandic origin: “Growing up in Iceland is probably my main inspiration–Icelandic rawness, wasteland, darkness, and the mystic scenery. I have tried to bring those elements into my work,” she recently said in Interview.

Her work has been published in publications such as Ponytail and Playing Fashion, and there’s plenty more to come.
